Cocooned in its own lush, private gardens, we fell for this super-cute, white-washed farmhouse at first sight, and the more time you spend here, the better it gets. 
 

The villa is attractively finished in contemporary country house style, with cool tiles and comfy furnishings making the indoor spaces as welcoming as the outdoors. Comprising a double and a twin, it’s ideal for a smaller family needing run-around room for the kids, or a couple looking for the extra space and privacy that you get with a villa rather than a hotel. There’s a pleasing, easy flow to the single storey layout, and if you do need to retreat for an hour or two to yourself, there’s also a mezzanine with sofas tucked in above the kitchen. 

Sitting on the shady terrace you look out over the pool to open fields and the mountains beyond, a glorious spot to start or end your day. This beautiful backdrop makes Villa Avinent feel delightfully rural, but you’re only a five-minute drive to the beach at Puerto Pollensa or Llenaire. For shopping (don’t miss the fantastic Sunday market), you’ll find everything you need, from bakeries to bikini shops, in the nearby attractive streets of Pollensa Old Town and Alcúdia, both of which will also spoil you with an excellent choice of cafes, restaurants and bars.
