NEW FOR 2025

With mountains rising up protectively behind and the endless glittering blue of the Ionian in front, Villa Sapphire is indeed a gem, set in one of our favourite parts of Kefalonia. The views from here are spellbinding, giving a full 180-degree panorama out over Trapezaki bay to the northern tip of Zakynthos in the distance.

The villa is beautifully designed, with hotel-style bedrooms and elegant en-suites complemented by stylish living spaces. This is no hushed hotel environment however, with loads of room for a family to spread out and enjoy the understated luxury feel. There’s a pristine pool surrounded by big comfy loungers for dedicated sun-worshippers, and a glass balustrade to make sure nothing gets between you and that glorious sea view.

When the heat fades from the day and everyone is starting to think about dinner, Villa Sapphire comes up trumps once again, with three tavernas within walking distance so no one has to spend too much time in the kitchen. This location is also ideal for older kids and teenagers who can walk to the creperie or taverna for a little time away from the parents. You might want a bottle or two of something chilled to enjoy on the terrace, and that’s also a very easy option with a minimarket just a six-minute walk away. For sea swimming and beach days, the closest coast is Trapezaki beach, or drive another couple of kilometres to enjoy fine sand and a full range of shops, restaurants and watersports at Lourdas.

Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Densely forested hills dotted with traditional hamlets and a coastline of small, quiet coves make Kefalonia an unspoilt Greek holiday delight. Its northeastern tip shelters picture-perfect Fiskardo, whose 18th-century houses stand proud with their flower-festooned balconies and carved doors. South Kefalonia hosts Argostoli, the vibrant island capital that still has an active fishing fleet alongside its buzzing cafes and restaurants. Come early and you’ll probably spot a loggerhead turtle in the harbour, or stay late and take a stroll down the waterfront promenade. Trapezaki is a little southern secret, with beautiful views over the sea to Zakynthos and up to Mount Ainos, the highest peak on the island. There’s an unspoilt sandy beach here with a single taverna, and if you’re looking for more choice, try Lourdas, a lovely long sandy/shingle beach lined with waterfront cafes and restaurants.
