Ingenious is the word that comes to mind when you explore the villa’s rooms and terraces, designed to be faithful to the original building whilst offering all the contemporary comfort you could wish for. From the dedicated hot-tub room to the top-of-the-range Coco-mat mattresses, this is a luxurious and grown-up space to spend time with friends and family. Catch up with a coffee on the covered terrace off the living room, or gather for dinner around the big table by the pool. If you’ve spent the day out exploring, or just arrive feeling a little travel-weary, then the hot tub will restore you ready for the next adventure in no time. For sea swimming and sundowners, Pantazi beach beckons; a gentle 15-minute stroll or considerably quicker if you decide to hire one of the e-bikes which make getting around this area so easy and so much fun.

Pantazi beach is a picture-perfect spot, with a mix of sand and pebbles and invitingly clear sea. There are loungers and a beach bar/casual restaurant, and if you enjoy a leg stretch before dinner, it’s just another 15 minutes flat walk along the coastal path to gorgeous Agios Nikolaos, a quietly upmarket little harbour village with a choice of excellent restaurants. If you prefer to eat in and make the most of your high-spec villa kitchen, early birds can buy the catch of the day direct from the fishermen in Agios Nikolaos each morning, reminding us that for all the smart accommodation and innovative restaurants, this is still a delightfully unspoilt corner of Greece.
