Barely a stone’s throw from the brilliant blue of the Aegean, this charming beach house sits right on the seafront in Söğüt, one of the loveliest villages on the unspoilt Bozburun peninsula. The house has all the romantic appeal of a cosy seaside cabin, tucked away at the end of a small gravel garden draped in flowering climbers for privacy and shade.
Summer in Söğüt is all about outdoor living, so you have a choice of sitting and dining areas by the house and at the end of the garden, which leads out onto our favourite spot of all: a private wooden jetty, complete with sunbeds, parasols and a ladder into the translucent turquoise sea below. It’s an idyllic sunbathing spot, kissed by a gentle sea breeze, with the option to slip straight into the sea and cool off when you need to. As evening falls, top up your drink and take a moment to enjoy the spectacular evening sky as the sun drops behind the islands in sheltered Söğüt bay.
The name Saranda (meaning 40) recalls a time when the village was a Greek enclave, and refers to the 40 churches that were originally found in this area. Nowadays you’ll find more restaurants than churches in Söğüt, with tables set right on the water serving some of the best food on the whole of this pretty peninsula. The village retains its natural beauty and authentic atmosphere however, and you’re perfectly placed to explore the rest of the Bozburun area, from chic Selimiye to tiny hillside hamlets and forgotten ruins accessible only by boat.
As cars are restricted along the waterfront, hire vehicles have to be left in the main village, where we will meet you on arrival and help transport your luggage the final 150 metres or so to the Beach House.

We were delighted with the welcome we received from the local inhabitants who remembered us from our last visit.
So good to be back in this delightful place after a gap due to Covid. As before, everyone at the restaurants were so friendly and welcoming. Thank you to Simpson Travel and Nihat for looking after us so well.
A beautiful spot. Lovely friendly village. A great base for visiting other villages on the peninsular. Loved swimming from the platform. Great boat trip with Dural with delicious fish caught by his mother. Thanks to Niko, who was very quick to respond to any questions.
We had a long day before our late flight leaving, Jess made really good suggestions of what to do - and her recommendation of Saki in Dalyan was spot on. She is a great rep - booking whatever we needed and always responding quickly.
The house was well-appointed and comfortable with a wonderful view. Thankfully the jetty had been rebuilt before our visit as it really adds to the experience. All the restaurants were good.
Between Jess, Ipek and Silar... nothing was too much in ensuring this was a perfect holiday. What a perfect place to stay.

Blissful, peaceful, tranquil – perfect! Rush hour in Söğüt – 8 donkeys and 3 cats! Great market on Mondays in the upper village. Restaurants all good. Serdar in the corner shop is an absolute star. Sunset supper at Manzara – oh yes! As always Jessica is so helpful, nothing too much. The cleaning girl is lovely – good job. Simpson Travel absolutely get it – well done! Hope to be back again.

What a fabulous holiday! We loved every minute of our time in Söğüt, so much so we have already booked for next year. THE restaurant to go to is Mehmet’s place on the corner. Manzara is amazing and well worth the extra cost. Duran is must – a magnificent boat trip around the island and finally, Jessica. Brilliant service and a very nice lady. Until next year!
We’ve had a fantastic stay at Saranda House – it’s beautiful and has everything you could possible need. Having a private jetty is pure heaven! We know we will be returning to Söğüt.
We have had the most relaxing week. We could not ask for a better place to stay – the accommodation is excellent and with the beach on your doorstep makes it heavenly. We had superb food and all the restaurants have been of a high calibre. Jessica has been so very helpful and made our stay a pleasure – with her knowledge about the area we managed to visit a few interesting places. We will certainly be returning here.
