NEW FOR 2025

Enchantingly unspoilt, Corsica is an idyllic destination for couples, yet smaller villas can be hard to find, so we are particularly pleased to bring you Villa Margaux near Figari in the beautiful south. Part of our Simply Simpson collection, Margaux is a little less luxurious than some of our other properties, but its two en-suite bedrooms, private heated pool and air conditioning mean you will still be very comfortable here. We love the flow from inside to out, with French doors leading directly to the pool deck, where you’ll find loungers and dining furniture for al fresco eating or a romantic nightcap beneath the stars. If you prefer to eat out, there's a fabulous ferme auberge restaurant, Pozzo di Mastri, just a four-minute walk away.

The other big advantage of Villa Margaux is its handy location between Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio. Both of these impressive old towns attract a discreet celebrity following during the high summer months, when palatial yachts line up in the harbour or moor tantalisingly close offshore. For a rather more authentic Corsican experience, Figari village, with its handy shops and supermarket, is a three-minute drive from the villa. This is the heart of wine country, with vineyards all around offering tastings and the chance to buy; the nearby restaurant even stocks a unique Corsican blue wine, definitely one to try!

The whole of the south coast is scalloped by stunning sandy beaches, so you could spend a week exploring locally and see a different one every day. Our favourite is La Tonnara, with soft sand caressed by clear water and arguably the best sunsets on the whole island. There’s a restaurant here in the main season if you want to make an evening of it, or you can stroll to the far end and find an untouched spot to enjoy the spectacle in peace.

Villa Margaux sits in its own plot screened by hedges for privacy, but it can also be booked together with neighbouring Villa Amelie, ideal if you’re traveling with friends. Their convenient location means they don’t have the complete tranquillity of our more rural villas, however we feel that being so close to so many of the area’s highlights makes them an enticing and excellent value proposition.
