This is our fourth holiday with Simpson and as always, it has been superb. Local concierge support has been knowledgable, available but not intrusive; perfect. The accommodation has been second to none and so wonderful to return to after a day exploring. It has also given us the flexibility to eat out or stay in for a night; sometimes essential with tired children. The car provided was perfect and the administration was managed quickly and effectively. I can’t speak highly enough of this holiday company.

The house is really well presented and thoughtfully equipped, making it a lovely home from home. A lovely villa, set outside the village so it’s peaceful with beautiful views but surrounded by nature. It took us 10 minutes to walk to Piperakis Bakery in the village every morning for coffee! So close enough to not always need to use the car. The villa is very well equipped and the welcome package very generous. Thanasis the concierge was so helpful. He booked meals for us and was very good at recommending place to eat. Even down to giving us the link to easy parking in Chania. He made all the difference to an easy, relaxing holiday. This was our first time in Crete and using Simpsons and we would absolutely do this again. What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Booking with Simpson Travel was easy and informative, documentation and pre-travel information for the region were timely and useful, the local reps met us at the airport with bottles of water and a smile and we were escorted to our hire car. Directions to the villa were spot on and the villa was glorious; spotless, excellent facilities, wonderful pool and stunning view. Thanasis, the local rep, agreed to pop in on the second day and gave us lots of information about the local area and we met the owner and cleaners mid week who were also lovely. Just as easy on our return flight; information sent by the rep in advance and then we were met at the airport by Janice for our goodbyes. Brilliant service all round.

Villa Asteriskos is very spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped. We enjoyed the expansive views over Souda Bay from the terrace and pool. Almyrida, a 15-minute walk away, has plenty of cafés and restaurants, a bakery and supermarkets, and a beautiful sandy beach with crystal-clear water. We particularly enjoyed visiting Chania and the Botanical Park and Gardens at Fournes, and we had a great boat trip with Antonis Boat Rental. We didn't mind the walk down to the village at all (15 mins) and it was very easy to get a taxi back in the evening if we needed to. Almyrida was a lovely village and we would return. What a great villa in a fabulous place. The views of the Gulf of Chania to one side and to the White Mountains to another side were fantastic; but the villa also has orange and lemon trees in the garden ready to pick - even in early April - which were lovely in the G&T's that we drank on the terrace overlooking the pool. You could easily see into Almyrida - down to the beach and the Tavernas, but it was so quiet that you could be forgiven for thinking you were the only person around. A pretty much perfect holiday venue.

Although the owner was unable to greet us due to personal circumstances he did leave a great welcome pack and, when he popped round mid-week with the cleaner, a rather good bottle of sparkling wine. The view was breathtaking and the perfect balance between being close to towns, beaches and activities but also a nice, tucked away villa with plenty of peace and quiet. Asteriskos is a fantastic villa. We loved everything, but especially the flowers in the garden and the grapes! It’s in a brilliant location – the views from the villa…well you need all day to do them justice! Octopus Bay is fantastic for snorkelling and horse riding in Kavros was brilliant fun. Aptera has atmospheric ruins in a typically low key Greek way. In Almyrida we found the harbour side beach the best – it’s lovely. Great villa, with fantastic views to coast and mountains; and lovely hosts who were there to meet us. They came to clean later in the week with a bottle of wine as a gift, and took the time to chat and tell us about the property, island and culture. What's not to like? The rep (Ray) met us and made sure we arrived at the villa (we followed him from the airport), exchanged numbers and made sure we knew where everything was, etc. He respected our request for no meeting but did arrange to pop back at the end of the week to check there were no issues, and check we knew the way back to the airport. Highly recommended villa, great location, and knowledgeable, helpful rep.
