NEW FOR 2025

If you love an authentic village feel but don’t want to sacrifice luxuries like a private pool and air-con, this charming villa is for you. Painted in the traditional Kefalonia red, the house sits on the edge of Lakithra, overlooking the south coast of the island. Lakithra is a thriving village, and the big bonus of Villa Frosso is that you can walk to several restaurants, a bar, a bakery and a popular patisserie in just five to ten minutes. The village has retained its Greek identity so it’s not a place for nightlife, but teenagers can still enjoy the freedom to come and go as they please without needing to be driven around.

Recently renovated, Villa Frosso is beautifully light and bright, with all the bedrooms opening onto a balcony or patio. The renovation has carefully retained many original features like the tiled floors and wrought iron balconies, complemented by stylish new bedrooms for a fresh and contemporary feel. At the heart of it all is a large swimming pool, cocooned in lush, mature gardens and framed by lemon trees – help yourself when it’s G&T time.

Beyond the village you’ll find many Kefalonia highlights close by; a ten-minute drive takes you to the soft golden sands of Avithos beach, and the slightly smaller but equally lovely Ai Helis. In the same amount of time, you can reach the capital Argostoli for a great choice of restaurants, fashionable cafes and cocktail bars.

To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Densely forested hills dotted with traditional hamlets and a coastline of small, quiet coves make Kefalonia an unspoilt Greek holiday delight. Its northeastern tip shelters picture-perfect Fiskardo, whose 18th-century houses stand proud with their flower-festooned balconies and carved doors. South Kefalonia hosts Argostoli, the vibrant island capital that still has an active fishing fleet alongside its buzzing cafes and restaurants. Come early and you’ll probably spot a loggerhead turtle in the harbour, or stay late and take a stroll down the waterfront promenade. Trapezaki is a little southern secret, with beautiful views over the sea to Zakynthos and up to Mount Ainos, the highest peak on the island. There’s an unspoilt sandy beach here with a single taverna, and if you’re looking for more choice, try Lourdas, a lovely long sandy/shingle beach lined with waterfront cafes and restaurants.
