You’ll find two delightful tavernas here too, perfect for an evening meal tucked away amongst the cobbled streets of this traditional working village with its pretty town hall and diminutive primary school. On Tuesday evenings the local children come out to watch the Greek dancing at Lakis, a memorable and relaxed affair – though not for those who prefer to sit on the sidelines! For something a touch more sophisticated, head down to the harbour in Vathy with its waterside bars, excellent tavernas and array of boutique shops gently jostling for business from those who come ashore from the sail boats and grandiose yachts which moor up for the night.
