Meganissi is an island idyll, a place that lends itself to blissful relaxation, coupled with a little gentle exploration. At just 20 square kilometres, it doesn’t take long to get a feel for the peaceful, unspoilt way of life here and you are never far away from another enticing turquoise bay for a refreshing dip as you travel round. And it is on the west coast of this Ionian paradise that Villa Asimi, one of two neighbouring properties with direct access to the beach, enjoys its enviable location and spectacular views across the water.
Elevated on the hillside above Villa Platina, the house enjoys an uninterrupted view towards the mountains of Lefkada from the open plan living area, where sliding doors lead out onto the terraced garden and infinity pool. Interiors are well-appointed and feel light and spacious thanks to the clean lines, abundance of glass and stylish furnishings; upstairs, two en-suite bedrooms each enjoy access to their own private balcony with the same heavenly views across the water.
A three-minute stroll leads to blissfully unspoilt Agios Ioannis beach, and the local taverna is less than five-minutes’ drive away. Further afield (around 15 minutes by car) the sleepy village of Spartochori has a small selection of traditional bars and tavernas, with shops offering everyday groceries and essentials. Beyond this, the coast road leads round to the enchanting harbour in Vathy where you’ll find an excellent choice of waterfront restaurants to suit all tastes.
Villa Asimi and neighbouring Villa Platina enjoy a truly beautiful and tranquil spot on Meganissi and have been designed to ensure that each house has its own identity with a good degree of privacy. Booked separately the villas are perfect for couples and small families, booked together they offer great flexibility for larger groups. Our second visit to Villa Asimi has been just as wonderful as the first! The view and entertaining boat watching have been just as spectacular. We visited Vathy for dinner every evening and the welcome of the local restaurateurs is lovely – you can’t go wrong with whichever restaurant you choose really. Anna and Kostas were as lovely as ever. Wondering now if a third visit is on the cards.

We have spent the most wonderful two weeks here. The views and landscape are spectacular and I cannot imagine a more prefect view when waking up each morning. Anna and Costas are fantastic hosts, they have created a little slice of heaven here.
We had a wonderful week and fell in love with Meganissi and Villa Asimi. The views are stunning and it’s so easy to be lazy while watching the ‘action’ on the water. We’ve explored the island and Fanari beach is a lovely spot. We’ll definitely be back so a big thank you to Anna and Kostas for creating their little piece of paradise and for their warm welcome.
Villa Asimi is in a truy stunning location with wonderful views. We loved being able to walk down the steps to the beach and to have the separate grassy area for sunbathing. The owners were charming and showed us into the villa and how things works and were on hand should there have been any problems.The villa was extremely comfortable and was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool was immaculate and the outside area was spacious with a choice of outdoor furniture to relax on.
Simpson are such a brilliant company. Their reps are friendly and knowledgeable and can't do enough for you, they really know both their villas and their islands. Everything ran like clockwork on our journey, no waiting or problems it couldn't of gone better. I am really confident that any villa you book with them will be exactly (if not better) than described they of a very high standard. Only one small hiccup was with the welcome email before departure which did not arrive explaining what would happen but because there was someone waiting for us at every arrival and departure point it didn't matter. We would definitely book with them again without hesitation.
Recently stayed in Villa Asimi on Meganisi. Villa is very modern and spacious and in a beautiful peaceful location. Meganisi is a lovely island with fabulous restaurants in Vathi. The only taxi on the island provided a very reliable service. Rania, the Simpson concierge, was really helpful and efficient. Enjoyed a fabulous week there and we would definitely go back.
Just back from an idyllic 2-week stay at Villa Asimi on the beautiful Greek island of Meganissi. The villa was stunning – luxurious accommodation with a vista to die for. As usual with Simpson, all the connection arrangements and additional info for travel during these times of Covid was handled in a professional and no-hassle way, and we were looked after brilliantly by the lovely Rania. This was our first visit to Meganissi, but I’m sure it won’t be the last!

Local life potters along as it’s done for centuries and there are no bustling resorts on Meganissi, just three flower-filled villages – and yet you’ll still see luxury yachts moored in the harbours. Warmly welcoming, this island is also beautifully unspoilt; its coastline dotted with gleaming white beaches, some accessible only by boat or kayak. Inland, the rolling hills make for wonderful walking country, with shady pine forests and spectacular blue seas beyond.
